Mary Carroll Schoch Weckerly, on December 14, 2015, of Washington Twp. Age 94. Beloved wife of Raymond Weckerly, Sr. and the late Philip Schoch. Loving mother of Philip Schoch (Pat), Raymond Weckerly, Jr. (Carol), Theresa DiMeo (Fred), Margaret Mary Cousins (Glenn) and Robert Weckerly. Devoted grandmother of Eric, Jared, Rachel, Daniel, Gina and Christian. Cherished great-grandmother of Ethan, Emily, Samantha and Alina.
Mary Carroll “94” now walks with God, her brother and other loved family members. Mary was the only sister to five brothers, who she always watched over. Mary was married to Phil Schoch on June, 7, 1943 and they had one son Phil. On November 9, 1944, her husband gave his life for us during WWII. Mary would remarry years later to another service man Ray Weckerly. Their children are Ray, Theresa, Margaret Mary and Rob.
She was always active in the Catholic faith showing her faith by making meals for those in need and giving prayer in solidarity. She made room in her home for those that needed one Marie Carroll, Joe Carroll, Helen Heaney and Wilhelmina Weckerly. Providing all of her family with love and support. Mary was a very strong woman nicknamed “The Bull” for the way she muscled through not complaining and getting done what was needed to in spite of her small size.
Mary was always taking care of someone. Until a few weeks ago she tended to her husband until her body could not continue. Now she cares for us all in a spiritual manner. She has taught us all to be strong, care for others and that family is a precious gift.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray Weckerly, her children Phil Schoch, Ray, Theresa, Margaret Mary, Rob Weckerly and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday, December 18, 2015, 10:15 – 11:45 am at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Rd., Turnersville. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
