Judith G. Desrochers
(nee Gagnon) On February 8, 2018 of Washington Twp. Age 75. Beloved wife of the late Roland E. Devoted mother of David Desrochers (Cindy), Lisa Hager, Lynne, Brian and Christine Desrochers. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth (Joe), Matthew (Megan), Andrew, Christopher, Lindsay and Katherine. Dear sister of Aline Grimard (Albert), Gerard Gagnon (Claudette) and the late Paul, Richard and Donald Gagnon. Dear sister-in-law of Roger (Juliette), Norman (Barbara), Richard (Earlene), and the late Raynal Desrochers. Also survived by Gloria Desrochers, Margaret and Grace Gagnon. Cherished daughter of the late Andre and Armande Gagnon.
Judy was born and raised in Lowell, MA where she met Roland Desrochers at St. Jeanne D’Arc school. They married in 1964 and moved to Asheville, NC, where they began many longtime friendships. Judy later lived in Turnersville, NJ for almost 50 years. She worked for 12 years as a legislative assistant to State Senator John Matheussen. In retirement, she enjoyed international travel with friends and hosted family beach vacations as a cherished tradition. Judy was an active volunteer in many organizations and charitable efforts, including Serv-A-Tray, Pro Life Chair at Holy Family, religious education, and collection and distribution of goods for the less fortunate. Judy was well known for her crafts, baking, cake decorating, and cooking. She was a prolific reader and also a dedicated correspondent, sending countless letters, news clippings, or gifts to her friends and large extended family over the years. She adored her 6 grandchildren (and family pets) and shared their diverse interests. Judy enjoyed playing board games, solving crossword puzzles, her bridge club, and playing bingo. She was generous and thoughtful and made a lifelong commitment to putting others ahead of herself.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 6:00-9:00 PM at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:00 AM. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
