Rita and Sons, we are so sorry for your loss. We will always remember all the fun time we had with Joe! Never a dull moment! You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Boy, haven is having a party now! Joey, Jack and Norm all together again!
My love and condolences to the Paul family. I met Joe a few years back, when I was hired to train Rita and Joe. Joe had one of the biggest hearts and was just an overall good guy. After just a few weeks he told me he will be my marketing manager. Even though I was there to provide a service, for the time I was there, I felt a part of the family. He will be missed.
I remember the 1st time I met Joe - it was at the Fall Fling, my first time there, something I will always remember and most recently, sharing his lap, as "Dirty Santa" with my sister, Pat Stewart. I am sure there will be many memories to share with Rita and the family and I offer my deepest condolences to all of you and I will keep you all in my prayers,
Mary Ann
Dear Rita & family, How sad I am to hear the news of Joe's passing. The time we spent together in the gym was my great pleasure. Joe always had a smile & a hug for his favorite personal trainer. When all is said & done, if you ever need me just to talk & walk with you please don't ever hesitate to call me. With great sympathy at this difficult time...Sincerely, Diane

Our best memory of Joe Paul was the day MaryJane Muldoon got married. Now we all knew that her mother Dot worked for Mickey Cavanaugh and she had him cater her daughter's wedding. At the time i was only dateing my husband Gal and every now and then at the reception we would go out for a cigarette. When the reception was half over Joe came out was talking and asked "yo Gal in about a 15 minutes will you give me a hand with something". And of course Gal says "sure Joe let me know when your ready". Joe said thank you but never said what it was that he had in mind. Joe came by the table and says Gal are you ready? Gal says Mare ill be right back Joe needs a hand with something. Meanwhile my Gal hasn't been around long enough to really know our Joey Paul. I laughed and said Hay Joe dont be getting my Gal into trouble, Joe laughed and answered how much trouble could we really get into at a wedding!About 15 minutes later Gal comes back laughing his ass off sayig that saying that Joey Paul is crazy I right away said why what did he do now his usual? Gal says nothing i will tell you later again whatever. Well Joe told gal listen Mickey said to take some of this food back to Dots incase anyone who was going back to her house would have something to eat. Gal takes the whole roast beef, the pork, I dont know how many hams he put them in Joe's car and thought nothing of it. Believed every word Joe said. On the way home Gal says were gone to Dots right? I said no were not shes exhausted and going to bed. He says no shes not I just took all the meat off Cavanaughs truck me and Joey Paul he said everyone would be going back to Dots. I was like NO YOU DID NOT ! he says what did i do? I said you stupid son of a b**ch you just robbed Mickey Cavanaughs truck OMG! Im in big trouble now Dot is going to be pissed when she finds this out and of all people it has to be my wondl boyfriend. They eventually knew who took the meat off the truck and his response was you put too much money out for that wedding i was just makiing sure you got the left overs. Mickey didnt need the left overs hes got plenty. After all these years we always bring it up and laugh our hearts out. Thanks Joe for everything you've done, you always left a mark on the hearts of anybody you had ever met. From babies to married men and women, When you took Rita away from God we all knew we were in trouble for sure! Never in a million years would we have thought that a man like you would wind up marrying a nun. But she was and always will be the best, Anything that ever happened to you and her theres one thing that stood out completely the fact that yous truely knew how to love. You and Rita were the best and i mean the #1 couple from Grays Ferry and we are honored to know and love you both. We hope your children turn out just like you, the man with the biggest heart I had ever seen. My condolences go to your wife, children, and family. We will love and miss you dearly until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hands. Love ya Joe xoxox Maryanne & Billy Gal Thank you so much for the many memories you have left upon us.
All my love and Prayers to Rita, Joe and Greg, and my condolences to the whole Paul family. I was lucky enough to have Joe as a friend. He was a wonderful man and he was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
Dear Rita, Joey Jr., & Greg,
I am so sorry to hear about Joey's passing. How sad it made me I just cannot put into words! I'll never forget him and the way he made everyone around him laugh & smile ALWAYS! He DEFINITELY WAS LOVED BY MANY!!! Having grown up on the same block you guys !500 Taney Street allowed me to get to know all of you & Joey.I'll also never forget that when I used to hear someone whistling very loudly from the other end of that block around dinner time that it was always Joey calling the boys for dinner. And how he used to joke with me & my family as you & yours would walk by on summer nights as we all sat on our steps. Good stuff! And I'll NEVER FORGET IT!!! Joey Paul certainly spent his time on this earth well! He married an awesome woman with the kindest heart & raised two pretty nice kids! Had a great job, laughed, loved, & just all around REALLY LIVED!!! He certainly will be missed and WITHOUT A DOUBT NEVER BE FORGOTTEN<3
You're all in my thoughts & prayers,
Love,

Rita and boys,
My prayers are with you at this time. Joe was a great cousin and man.Had so much fun when he was around. He will be sadly missed by all.
I will always cherish all of the great memories I have with Uncle Joe. Uncle Joe always had a way of making you feel like a better person, by just being around him. The love and care that he gave to everyone was immeasureable. It really hurts to know that my infant son Dalton didnt get to know Uncle Joe, because I honestly can not think of a better role model. Can you? Thank you Uncle Joe for just being you. Everyone in heaven is very lucky now that you are there.
I haven't seen Joe in many years but we spent lots of fun times on Wilder and Gerritt streets. Joe was a good guy, someone you could count on. My mom and dad always commented how he was so friendly and respectful. His good humor and good heart will live on.
Rest in Peace Joe.
