John M. Cocco
John M. Cocco age 82 of Washington Twp NJ passed away March 19, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments. He was the beloved son of Michael and Veronica Cocco (née Ziobro), a devoted father to Kristin N. Cocco and Jason M. Cocco (Kristin), and a proud grandfather to Jayden, Jaxton, and Frankie.
Born and raised in Dupont, Pennsylvania, John later made his home in Washington Township, New Jersey, where he lived for the past 36 years. A veteran of the United States Army, he went on to enjoy a successful career with New York Life, earning life membership in the Million Dollar Round Table.
John later became a self‑employed antique dealer specializing in American Brilliant Period cut glass and spent his retirement years as a pet trainer at PetSmart, perfectly fitting his lifelong love of animals. Known for his bold personality, quick humor, and legendary impatience — a trait often joked about by those who loved him — John believed everything should happen immediately and never hesitated to remind everyone of it. He especially enjoyed trips to the Borgata, where he loved the thrill of gambling.
John’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.
“If heaven has a fast lane, John is already in it — asking why it’s not moving faster.”
