John and I were graduates o0f the Clearview Pioneers, Class of 71. Though John and I did not run with the same crowd in H.S. I will always remember him as that friendly, quiet, unassuming guy who roamed the hallways with us. Gone too soon my friend. Tom T.

I thank John for his friendship and his open arms in welcoming Jacob's Ladder Nature Club in his forest last April. John inspired me to start this nonprofit after suggesting I read Last Child in the Woods, and Nature's Best Hope. I know he enjoyed the kids learning under the canopy of trees. As we grow and serve a community of special needs children, we will honor him with every step. Anytime I see a monarch butterfly , I will think of John.

Deepest sympathy to John’s family and friends as I am sure he had many. I was luck to know John via his nursery, Windy Top. He was kind, and well-versed in his knowledge of plants, trees, and shrubs. He will be missed and he touched many lives. He was a lucky man. RIP John.
