Agnes and family: I am not one to look for obituaries and very shocked to hear of John’s passing. Much too young to be taken from family and friends. Words will not help but as mentioned in all the messages, his assistance allowed I and many others to enjoy some of the best times in memory. Bernie (Just one of his grateful pilots)

Bill Schick left a message on January 9, 2022:
My sincerest condolences go out to Agnus, the children and the entire Eddowes family for this heartbreaking loss. I got to know John years back from connections at a local church, work and outside of work. As I look back I have many great memories of John and the person he was and how much passion he had for whatever he poured into. And whatever he ended up doing he strived for perfection-to be the best. I really enjoyed working along side of him at Reeves and on side jobs. He and I would drive in together to work with Alan (his father who is also a great man) and get into some deep conversations together. I grew a lot in my faith in Jesus during this time. John had an extraordinary work ethic and made work fun. I remember him taking me on some of his adventures of skiing, boating and water skiing. And oh could he waterski! He always pushed everything he did to the extreme ( not that would come as a surprise.) I was privileged to have John as a groomsmen at my wedding. I thought a lot of John as a person and friend. Unfortunately I lost touch with John and Agnus shorty after they got married and moved away and I only wish I had stayed connected to know Agnus better and his children. My life is better because of my friendship with John. John had a huge heart for so many and he will be missed. I pray for God’s sustaining grace and power to fill the Eddowes family and they would feel His presence at this difficult time.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

We'll never reminisce about the good old days- all of us just starting out in life and marriage, without fun, happy memories of Aggie & John. His adventurous spirit and their love and laughter together will continue to inspire us. We will remember all who loved John in our prayers for comfort and the peace of Jesus, with our heartfelt sympathy.

Thoughts and prayers for the entire Eddowes family today as they say "till we meet again" to John. Grew up with John at NWPC, then grew closer to him in the late 80's while on a mission trip to Kenya and then followed doing some skydiving at United Parachute Club in Gilbertsville. Will continue to keep his family in my prayers!

So so sorry to hear of this sad news...although I hadn't seen John in a dozen or so years I counted him as a good friend from the first time we met in the early 80's and thru all the great skydiving and flying experiences we had in the 90's. MY heart goes out to Agnes and their kids as he was taken way too soon. He will be missed by so many people he impacted.
