James H. McCormick, Sr. “Rock”, on March 17, 2015 of Washington Twp., NJ., formerly of Grays Ferry. Age 68. Beloved husband of Ann T. “Nancy” (nee Ketterlinus). Devoted father of James H., Jr. (Kelly), and Katie Farrell (Thomas). Dear brother of Nancy Toritto (Joseph), Thomas (Sandy), Janice Riddle (the late James), Patrick (Annie) and the late Patsy Gizzy. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews and his faithful companions Bonnie, Nina and Harper.
Jim was a beloved son, brother and friend. Devoted husband to Nancy for 39 years, and a wonderful father to son Jimmy and daughter Katie. He worked as a pipe-fitter at the Budd Company for 35 years. He loved spending time with his large family and numerous friends.
In addition, Jim loved traveling especially cruises, trips to the Poconos and North Wildwood. He enjoyed going out to dinner at the Library IV and happy hour at Scotland Run Country Club.
In his spare time he enjoyed coaching baseball and football, as well as rooting for his favorite Philly sports teams. He was also fond of any trivia or age guessing games. Jim will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Monday 8:15-9:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at SS Peter & Paul Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory may be made to SS Peter & Paul Church at the above address. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com

This week we lost a special man, a provider, a teacher of sorts. Not only was Jim my uncle but he was also my Godfather. In many ways he was like my Grandpop, a trickster. Life was always a game and it was fun to keep people guessing. Whether it was his age or mundane trivia, Jim was always out for fun, usually at your expense! But it was the lesson I think he was after. He always wanted your best! He was my first coach in any little league sport (and we all know how that story turned out!!) and he pushed me to be the best on the field and he told me I was even though I knew I wasn't. "Effort and determination will trump skill," he use to tell me. I think he played too long without a helmet, but when you don't give up YOU DO SUCCEED!! Lesson learned!!
