George Bell, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend as well as a man of God, learned at a young age how to love, protect and serve others. Life did not always come easy to this man giving him a very humble mindset. He was a self effacing humanitarian. He loved making soup for the homeless shelter on Wednesday’s at 9th and Race before he retired. He was a loyal employee of Bell Telephone PA (aka Verizon) for over 35 years. George led the lost to God through random acts of kindness, a mission trip to Africa and when founded King’s Kids Learning Center along with Patti. He along with others shared with prisoners at Bayside Prison there are new beginnings waiting for them. He believed everyone deserved a chance. George, was a man of few words but his presence and contagious laugh engulfed all around him. Those close to him enjoyed his funny songs, dances and nicknames. He held true to his values even if it meant facing controversy. He stood firm on his beliefs and never let anyone change his mind. He did not just love people, he also had this love for animals. He enjoyed watching the birds, playing with his dog(s) and writing stories about Professor Pete the guinea pig for his family to enjoy. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
