Ellwood A. Bell

On January 12, 2019, of West Deptford, NJ.  Age 75.  Beloved husband of the late Jo-Ann E. (nee Steinke).  Devoted father of Amy B. Baun (Richard) and Allen J. Bell (Joann).  Loving grandfather of Andrew.  Dear brother of Irene Amato and the late Christine Keen.

Ellwood Bell of West Deptford, NJ entered into rest on Saturday, January 11, 2019. He was 75 years old, born May 13, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up in Bellmawr. Son of the late Ellwood and Irene (nee: Brown) Bell. Married to the late Jo-Ann Bell. Daughter, Amy Baun and husband Rick, their son Andrew. Son, Allen Bell and his wife Joann. He has a surviving sister Irene Amato and her husband Tony and he is was pre-deceased in death by his sister Christine Keen and her husband Joe. He also had many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ellwood, who was known to his friends and family as Ell, was married to Jo-Ann for almost 50 years. In 1973 they settled and raised their family in West Deptford, NJ. He worked for Thermoseal Industries in Gloucester City, NJ for over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling all over the world with his family and was an avid Phillies fan. After his wife passed, Ell became a full-time grandfather spending time with his best friend and grandson, Andrew. Andrew affectionately nicknamed his grandfather “Oldie.” They had a very special bond, so much so, that when Ell came out of surgery a few years ago, the only person he asked for was his grandson.

He also loved going to the movies and hanging out at McDonald’s. Until recently, he would spend his Februarys in Florida.

Ellwood was a dedicated husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 9:00-11:00 am at Green Hill Presbyterian Church, 3112 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE. 19807.  Funeral service 11:00 am.  Interment, Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellwood’s memory may be made to Green Hill Presbyterian church at the above address.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com
