Dorothy C. Moderski
(nee Remshard) On July 25, 2025, of Washington Twp. Age 87. Beloved wife of the late John J., Sr. Devoted mother of John J., Jr., James J. (Lisa) and Thomas J. Moderski (Kristen). Loving grandmother of John, III, Michael, Matthew, Heather, James, Jr., Alexandra, Thomas, Jr., and Victoria. Proud great-grandmother of Brooke, Kevin, Evelyn and Henry. Dear sister of Edith Agunzo and the late Harry and William Remshard.
Our mom was a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and a heart of gold. A proud and active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, she found joy and purpose in serving her community—especially when it involved a little magic and some fun. Her favorite events were “Lunch with Santa” and “Lunch with the Easter Bunny,” not just because of the festive spirit, but because she got to share those moments with her beloved grandchildren. Watching their eyes light up was her kind of jackpot.
Speaking of jackpots, Mom had a bit of a wild side—namely, her adventures with Dad to the casinos in Atlantic City. We’ll never forget the excitement in her voice when she called to say she hit for 450 nickels on the slots. We let her bask in the glory of her “big win,” even though it only came out to about $22.50. To her, it wasn’t about the money – OK, maybe it was a little – it was about the thrill, the fun, and the story she’d get to tell.
But more than anything, Mom loved her family. Her heart belonged to her husband, her three sons, her eight grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren. She cherished her sister, her two brothers, and a sprawling network of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who became family. When she welcomed you into her life, it was with open arms and an open heart. Her warmth was genuine, her potato salad unforgettable, and her love unconditional. We will miss you mom/mom-mom/Dot, but we will never forget you.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love—a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 8:45-10:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish/Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Glassboro. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Catholic Daughter’s of America, Court Blessed Katherine Drexel #2327, 500 Greentree Road Glassboro, NJ 08028.
