David E. Duffield

David E. Duffield passed away on July 24,2025 after a brief illness. Resident of Washington Twp. Age 91. David is predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary. He is survived by his children David (Ruthann), Dan (Tracy) and Debbie Grelli (Tony). Loving Grandfather of Matt (Klyee), Keith (Rose), Chrissie (Andy), Heather, Dan Jr. (Kristin), Tony Jr. (Chrissy), Jenny, Julie (Ed). Proud Great Grandfather of Jaxson, Finley, Lavinia, Jameson, Sophie, Magnolia, Bryce, Blair, Blake, Grayson, Brooke and Sunday.

David had a full scholarship to Rutgers University upon his HS graduation but gave it up to run the family farm after the death of his father. He loved being a farmer and spending his days in the field working hard. David, along with his late wife, Mary, started Duffield’s Farm when they married and raised all their crops to take to the market in Philadelphia and in 1965 they opened Duffield’s Farm Market, selling their produce from there to this day. David was proud to be a farmer and took great pride in his work. David still came to work every day to ensure that everything was being done to his liking up until the time of his death. In his later years he thoroughly enjoyed riding around the farm on his golf cart checking on the status of the fields and crops. He instilled in all of his children a great sense of integrity and strong work ethic. He was a kind, generous, thoughtful man who cared greatly for those around him and was always willing to lend a helping hand and a hug to anyone who needed it. David had a strong faith and belief in God. He and Mary were youth leaders at St. John’s Church for many years, and He was on the Board of Trustees there for many years as well.

David’s presence and guidance will be greatly missed by his family. We are saddened by his passing but grateful to know that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus and reunited with the love of his Life, Mary.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 6:00-9:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00-10:30 AM at St. John’s Church, 149 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012. Funeral service 10:45 AM. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.

In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to St. John’s Church at the above address.

Though I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Mr. Duffield personally, I wanted to share just how deeply his presence is still felt in our community. His work as a farmer and the creation of the Duffield's Market have left an undeniable mark—a legacy that continues to nourish and bring people together. In a world that often overlooks the quiet contributions of those who work the land, he was an unsung hero. He helped feed families, fostered connections, and built something that has stood the test of time. His dedication, humility, and hard work made a lasting difference—something anyone can admire, whether they knew him or not. Please accept my deepest respect and gratitude for the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Duffield . He was a friend of of our family Aaron and Bobbie Eastwood. When I was sick and facing the unknown back around 2012-13 the Duffield family had me in their prayers , well now your in my prayers. Wishing his family comfort in this time of loss…. So sorry to hear this, we enjoyed the fruits of his labor over 40 years . May he rest in peace , hopefully his children will keep the greats products, services and events at Duffields .

I knew Mr.Duffield because of being fellow farmers ,and he always took care of us kids when we had ACA fun days there. Truly a good man ,prayers and best wishes to all his family.

He is with the Lord now and you will see him later.

Mr. D will be sorely missed! He always came out to say hi and to ask about others. When I worked doing donuts years ago, he would come check on the machine (he even had a name for it!), grab a donut and chat about the weather. He was always an up, positive man even when things got stressful......he was a man of faith and had the greatest smile. He was so proud of his children and even more of the grands! As the family grew, I would see him bending to listen to a little one with undivided attention, then send them to their mom with a smile on their face and a cookie or donut in their hand. So sweet! Mr. D was one-of-a-kind who shared his blessings with many. Now in Heaven with Jesus and his wife Mary, may he feel the love from those of us blessed to know him and his family.

Some truths in life are hard to accept. Their memories will never be forgotten.

So many good things have already been said about David, so I'll just say that John and I had a great love and admiration for David and Mary. They left a legacy for their family that will go on for years to come. He is joyful in Heaven now and reunited with Mary. Sending prayers of comfort to his family.❤️🙏❤️

Sad for your loss. Happy he is in heaven with his wife and my parents. Loved picking strawberries in the late spring. Getting corn cantaloupe peaches asparagus baked goods especially those cider doughnuts. May God comfort the family.
