Family-owned businesses, such as Egizi Funeral Home build their reputation by delivering on their promises. For Egizi, this means surpassing expectations as we serve our neighbors in Washington Township and the surrounding areas.

Our family has owned and operated Egizi Funeral Home for more than 40 years. We realize our neighbors throughout the Washington Township area trust our expert staff to walk alongside them during some of life’s most difficult times. We listen and we care, and our decades of professional experience help us highlight your loved one’s unique personality at the funeral and help you heal afterwards.

We remain a family-operated funeral home in every sense of the word. Gary H. Egizi had been working in the 1960s in funeral service, when his father, Hugh Egizi, suggested they buy a five-acre parcel of land and open their own family funeral home. Construction began in 1969, and the doors opened in 1970. Gary chose to live above the funeral home for many years so he could be ready at a moment’s notice to help his neighbors, no matter the day or time.

Through hard work and a commitment to treating families with excellence and integrity, Egizi Funeral Home gained a stellar reputation in this community, and the business grew into one of the largest volume funeral homes in Washington Township.

Almost five decades later, we remain owned and operated by a family – the only funeral home left in Washington Township that can say that. Owner Charles V. Chiango, Jr. joined the Egizi team in 1985 when he was just 19 years old. After 32 years of faithful ownership and operation, Gary Egizi passed the baton to Charles in 2002. Today, Charles continues to build upon the amazing legacy begun by Hugh and Gary, and Gary still works side-by-side with the whole team.

Throughout our rich history, families trust us to arrange every detail of their burial or cremation with excellence. They know we’re here to help with the 100+ decisions that come into play when planning a funeral. From writing a eulogy or obituary to coping in the weeks and months after the funeral, generations of our family have helped our neighbors pay tribute to their loved ones.
