Carmel Gartner left a message on July 3, 2014:
Bill, Pat Verrecchio and I all arrived at VCRC at the same time. We were only a few doors away from each other on the second floor. Bill was always the first one up and the first one to go to bed but each of those times he checked on Pat and I to see if we were okay. For the first two years on Friday nights we would buy pizza or cheese steaks gather in the Day room and talk. However, we also ordered enough so that the aides and nurses could join us so they would know that we appreciated all that they did for us back then. And lastly Bill was like a kid and loved to play jokes with me on Pat because she is so naive. Once I told her as Bill waited in the hallway that my new roommate was a Siamese twin and I did not know what face to talk to. He was laughing so hard as Pat was giving it so much thought and feeling so bad. She finally heard Bill laughing and got really mad at the two of us and then he felt really bad and returned with some candy for her. She finally forgave us and then time would pass and Pat would forget and I would come up with something once again and he always joined in. He may not be here physically but I have already experienced him spiritually. He loved his family very much and talked about all of you all the time. There was nothing more important to him then Family and then the Church. God Bless all of you, Love, Carmel
