William J. Leskie, Sr.

December 5, 1941 - July 9, 2011

On July 9, 2011 of Washington Twp. Age 69. Beloved husband of Eugenia P. nee Carlin. Devoted father of Stephanie Sayer James, Kara Leskie Greg Lill, Melissa Leskie-Jain Steven and William J. Leskie, Jr. Loving grandfather of Ethan, Dylan, Isabelle and the late Jimmy. Dear brother of Helen Kachejian.

Bill loved his shore house in Wildwood, NJ, and spent a lot of his spare time at the shore fishing, doing home improvement projects and enjoying the ocean. He loved his grandchildren and had a great time having sword fights and playing “Pop Pop” games with them. His sense of humor was the life of the party, and his generosity and enormous heart are the qualities for which he’ll be most remembered. He was a fighter all his life and held loyalty and integrity in the highest esteem. His love of shopping, food and doing things “big” will be forever engraved in our hearts. His name was synonymous with courage and bravery – and he has left us all with big shoes to fill.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Wednesday 8:30-10:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home 119 Ganttown Rd. Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family, Washington Twp. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Jimmy Sayer Handstand Foundation JSHF c/o Egizi Funeral Home 119 Ganttown Rd. Turnersville, NJ 08012.

Pat has had the honor of knowing you for many years. I have only had the privaledge for 3 year. As mentioned what stood out to me immediately was your sense of humor. As we go through things left in the house I find various items and am told "oh they were from Bill" something fell off a truck or whatever....I have had several giggles over this and will continue to remember them. xoxo

Eugenia and family, Having worked with Bill and called him a true friend for the past 30 years, I have shared both the joys and sorrows of the Leskie family, and I saw the gleam in his eyes each time he updated each of your lives. Those who knew Bill can agree that he was "one of a kind", and his laugh was extremely infectious. Bill never pretended to be anything other than what he was, and he was very proud that he was never, never, ever, referred to as quiet and reserved. I am going to miss him, but the Leskie stories and anecdotes will stay with me, and be repeated, for the rest of my life. My family offers our prayers for your family. Ed
