William G. Trippel, on December 6, 2013, of Washington Twp. Age 81. Beloved Husband of Barbara (nee Lolas). Devoted father of Monica Tobey, Christopher Trippel (Robyn), Brian Trippel (Sheryl) and Patricia Nolan (Gary). Loving grandfather of Margaret, Jacob, Albert, Aaron, Abigail, Alexis, Anna, Aiden, Rachael and Emily. Loving son of the late Carl and Margaret (nee Deitchley) Trippel. Dear brother of Edward (Geraldine), Paul (Phyllis), Raymond (Dorothy), Irene DeVliegher (Cyril) and the late Thomas Trippel. Also survived by his sister in-law Helen Trippel and many nieces and nephews.

I cherish the memories from my interaction with Bill some 65 or so years ago. His kindness shown to me ,the little kid from down the road, labeled him as an Idol. My sympathy to all the family. Arthur Newhouse

I first met Bill in 2005 on the C & O Canal Association’s annual thru bicycle ride down the Canal. That was the last year that Bill rode his bike with us but he always came to the following rides since then to support Barbara and meet us along the trail. Bill was like our guardian angel helping out in any way he was needed. Sometimes as a taxi when a bike broke down and sometimes as the ambulance when someone wrecked their bike. Bill was a good friend indeed! I’m not sure what he said in this picture which was taken on a rainy September day of this year but whatever he said it made me smile. Thanks, Bill, for the friendship and the smiles!
