William F. Erskine ( July 29, 1942 – July 21, 2022 )
July 21, 2022 of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of West Deptford and Philadelphia.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee McClellan), cherished Dad of Karen Heinze (Joseph). He was the brother of Robert Erskine, Margaret McGarvey (John), Regina Graney (Gene), George Erskine (Kathleen), Elizabeth Heaton (Curt), Mary Velez (Edward), the late Catherine Callahan (late Henry) and the late Esther Costello ; also survived his aunt Mary Collins McClain (late Robert) and his sister in law Patricia DiNardo (Joseph), as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1963. He worked for the Philadelphia Fire Department, then the Philadelphia Police Department, where he retired in 1987 as a lieutenant. He also worked in security with various companies after his retirement, with the last being Johnson Mathey in West Deptford. Bill was a member of the B.P.O.E., American Legion, AMVETS and the Eagles lodge. He loved his grand dogs Duncan, Hailey and Peanut / so donations are to be considered to the rescue that made him a Pop Pop.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill’s life on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 9:30 am. to 11:00 am., at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road in Washington Township, where words of remembrance will be shared at 11:00 am. Inurnment Gloucester County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the New Life Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 21, Marlton, NJ 08053, would be appreciated.
