Wanda A. Schenck (nee Young), on November 4, 2012, of Washington Twp., formerly of Virginia Beach. Age 87. Beloved wife of the late William. Devoted mother William H. (Deborah), Merrily A. Hunter, and Gary. Loving grandmother of William, Wendy and Kerry. Proud great-grandmother of Nicholas and Maddox.

Services are being held privately at the request of the family.

We all so enjoyed being with Wanda in our Elizabeth Fairbanks circle and Alice Oliver circles.Pat Sickles and I also, enjoyed sitting with Wanda at the 8:30 Sunday service in our chapel.She is now with her dear Bill. I worked with Wanda at Navy Material Transportation Office in the late 50's. Besides being a friend, we were also neighbors - twice. We lived across the street on Bayview, in Norfolk, and more recently, in Thoroughgood in Virginia Beach. She was a beautiful, smart, fun, lady. My sympathies to the family. I was sorry to see your mother's obituary in the newspaper today. I am the Administrative Assistant here at Haygood UMC and I knew your mom from the church. She was a lovely lady and I enjoyed seeing her when she came to the church office. She was missed when she moved to NJ. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family.
