On July 12, 2023, of Pitman. Age 64. Beloved husband of Linda L. (nee Fisher). Devoted father of CDR Thomas Young Jr, USN (Rebecca) and Bryan Young
(Jillian). Loving grandfather of Liam, Brayden, and Layla. Dear brother of Mary Christine Gredvig (Jeffery), and the late Nancy, Martin, Hugh, Bernadette,
Donna, and Judith. Proud Son of the late Mary and Hugh.

After a grueling battle with cancer, Thomas J. Young succumbed peacefully on July 12, 2023 at the age of 64.  Born in 1958 to Hugh and Mary Young, Thomas, known to his loved ones as Tom, lived a life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories.  He was a devoted husband to his wife Linda, a proud father to his two sons, TJ (Rebecca)  and Bryan (Jillian), and a devoted grandfather to Liam, Brayden, and Layla.  Tom worked as a Union carpenter for 35 years before he retired in 2013.  If you ever drove into Philadelphia with him, he would point out every building that he worked on and you could feel the sense of pride he carried with him.  Our neighbors recognized his ability to build, as he built many decks and additions in Breckenridge Village and throughout Gloucester Township.

His favorite activities varied throughout the years, but central to his activities were his family.  Be it riding roller coasters or zipping down water slides in Wildwood or Six Flags or Cedar Pointe, going on massive family vacations down to Disney World, or just spending time with family in various parts of the country, Tom always managed to plan out memorable experiences that we will always cherish.  He also enjoyed white water rafting, going to NHRA races, and going to concerts.

As he aged, he grew increasingly interested in sorting out his extended family tree.  His level of research was astounding as he could cross reference many different primary sources from a variety of different countries.  As a result, a clear picture of the many branches of the Young family has been revealed.  He helped several family members solve age-old family mysteries and helped reunite long-lost relatives.

Thomas J. Young is survived by his wife, Linda, his sons TJ and Bryan and their wives Rebecca and Jillian, his grandchildren Liam, Brayden, and Layla, and his sister Mary Christine (Jeffrey).  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.  As we mourn the loss of Tom, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the enduring impact he made on those around him.  May his soul rest in eternal peace.
