Tom was a longtime resident of Whitman Square in Washington Township NJ. Tom’s hometown was Collingswood NJ, where he was a graduate of the Class of 1961. Tom served proudly in the Army from 1965-1967. After his discharge, Tom worked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard almost nonstop until its closing in 1995, and continued to work for the Navy until his retirement in 2006. After his retirement, he started a construction business which he ran until 2014.
Throughout his life, Tom was always someone to get involved and volunteer his time. Whether it was as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts, a baseball coach and Commissioner in town, and a softball player/coach and Commissioner for the Diocesan co-ed league, Tom was always actively participating. For his Parish of St. Charles Borromeo, where he was a longtime parishioner, Tom served a variety of roles, as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Parish Council, member of the Pre Cana program, and religious education teacher. He also volunteered his time at the Interfaith Hospitality Network, and whomever just needed a helping hand.
Family was so very important to Tom. He loved travelling and spending time with his beloved wife Mona, they were happy either in the mountains or at the beach. He enjoyed playing softball with his sons and grandsons, visiting and playing with his many grandchildren, or riding his Harley around South Jersey with his friends. On Christmas Day you could even find him dressed as Santa riding his Harley as he visited his grandkids and other children in the neighborhood. Wherever he was, Tom lived life to the utmost.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Wednesday 8:30-11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM.
