Thomas E. Lister
On August 24, 2025, of Washington Twp. Age 89. Devoted father of Thomas E. Lister Jr. (the late Michelle). Loving grandfather of Michael and Nicholas. Dear brother of the late Charles Scott Lister Jr. and Margaret Mothes. Loved by nieces and nephews.
Tom was born and raised in Philadelphia.to Scott and Mary Lister. The first of 3 children. A sister and a brother came in the next 3 years. He attended John Bartram High School in SW Phila.
He met his future wife at a church social, married at 20 and became a father of his only child at 25. He held various jobs to support the family until the family relocated to New Mexico. At that time, he along with his wife Jeneanne, became business owners of a Tastee Freez, a fast-food mixture of American and Mexican food in addition to ice cream treats. The business flourished for a number of years, creating numerous friends and business acquaintances.
Later he took interest in the towing business where he was able to purchase his own truck and start up his own towing company. Working closely with the local and State police the business did well, and he enjoyed the experiences and day to day life.
He eventually moved back to the East coast to be near his son.
He was a devout dog lover and became a member of some animal support/charities such as Homeward Bound and the ASPCA.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing Wednesday, September 3rd September 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’s memory may be made to Homeward Bound, 125 County House Rd., Blackwood, NJ 08012.
