Thomas C. Moore, Sr.
On March 6, 2023, of Washington Twp. Age 92. Beloved husband of Lois (nee Frederick). Devoted father of Denise Wolk (Michael), Nancy Doyle (Jim), Thomas C. Moore, Jr. (Nancy), and Patricia Wilkinson (Brian). Loving grandfather of Katie, Michael, Mary Grace, Karly, Jimmy, Kimberly, Thomas, and Hayley. Proud great-grandfather of Addison, Levi, Annabelle, Holden, and Lela. Dear brother of the late William.
Tom was born in Philadelphia on February 5, 1931 to Thomas G. and Margaretta Crosbee Moore. His family didn’t have much money during The Depression. Tom attended Patterson Elementary School and graduated from John Bartram High School in 1949.
At age 13, Tom lost his father to Tuberculosis, Tom then joined the Army at age 20, during the Korean War. After returning home from the service in 1954, Tom became a member of the Plumber’s Local 690, where he enjoyed his work until the age of 61.
In 1955, he met and married the love of his life. They bought a row home in Clifton Heights, PA, where all four of his children were born. In 1968, the family moved to New Jersey. Tom was very active in the WTAA, where he coached baseball and basketball.
His hobbies included woodworking, playing banjo, watching the Phillies & Eagles, building puzzles, going to his granddaughter’s tennis games, listening to the string bands, and going to dinner on Friday nights with his son and his wife. The most important thing in his life was his family.
Tom will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts and souls forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 10:15 – 11:30 am at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 am. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
