Susan E. Albright, (nee Whitfield) on September 5, 2021, of Swedesboro. Age 56. Beloved wife of Robert C. Dear sister of Cynthia Chapman (John) and William Whitfield. Cherished daughter of the late Lorenzo and Barbara Whitfield. Dear sister-in-law of Leonard Albright (Robyn). Loving aunt to Benjamin, Nathan, Jacqueline, Carolyn, and Len, Jr.
In 1964, while stationed at Rome AFB NY, Lorenzo and Barbara Whitfield welcomed into the world their beautiful twin girls. Susan and her older sister “by 20 minutes”, Cynthia. They were followed by their “younger yet perfect” brother William.
During their childhood their father’s Air Force career had the family relocating all around the country as well as Europe. When their father was assigned to 2 tours in Southeast Asia, Barbara commanded the brood at home in the States.
The family finally settled in North Hanover Twp. NJ where Susan attended Northern Burlington High School. She went on to become a proud graduate of the Newhouse School of Syracuse University. After graduation, Susan returned to New Jersey, Susan began a career in retail working for Strawbridge & Clothier. That’s where she met her future husband, Robert. She went on to become a human resources manager, fitting for her love of people and her joyful personality.
After they were married, Susan and Robert settled into Swedesboro NJ with their fur babies, two kitty’s named Cali and Tinkerbell. The pair loved to travel, but most of those travels ended up at the Central Florida Kingdom of Walt Disney World. Special time was always spent visiting her twin and family in South Carolina. Cynthia’s boys loved Aunt Sue. She and the boys shared a common love of video games.
Susan’s infectious personality glowed. She was considered “the best hugger” and loved everyone she met. Holidays were always special. The family especially looked forward each year for Susan’s newest dessert creation to top the prior year.
Maya Angelou said, “people will never forget how you made them feel.” Susan made everyone feel special. She was special.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 9:30-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215 or www.diabetes.org.
