Stephen J. Paul, on May 21, 2023, of Bellmawr. Age 64. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Curran). Devoted father of Nancy Paul and Stephen Paul. Loving grandfather of Simone and Terrance. Dear brother of Elizabeth Wiekel, Joan Foell, Susan Paul, Richard Paul, and the late Marie Clancy, Jeannette MacKinnon, David Paul, Joseph Paul, James Paul, and Catherine Paul. Loved by many nieces and nephews.
Steve was very much a family and community man. Family and friends were always at the top of everything he did. He was born as a twin into a family of 11 children. To say they had a very lively childhood would be an understatement. His family is very close due to the love and respect they share and have handed down to generation after generation. He truly became the glue that has kept it all going as the years have gone by. There honestly is not a person in this world that he has ever met that did not love him. No matter where you went, someone knew him and would tell you he was like a brother to them.
When he was younger, growing up in the Grays Ferry area he loved to play sports and was known as “Whammer” because of his ability to hit a baseball 600 feet. He loved his Phillies, as well as golfing, darts and many other sports. Steve loved to sing and everyone else loved it when he picked up a microphone. To be honest, this was a request at every single party and wedding he attended.
He and his lifelong love, Ann, built a beautiful family and life together and truly loved to spend time together. The only things he loved as much as Ann were his children and grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye. He loved to watch Simone do gymnastics and watch Terrance swing a baseball bat as naturally as he once did in his own youth. All you had to do was look at his face when he saw them or talk about them to see and feel how much he loved them. He had a heart of pure gold that will be cherished forever. If anyone who knew Steve Paul was asked to describe him, their answer would almost certainly include the words “Big HEART”.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 8:15 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM at St. Joachim Parish Annunciation Church, 601 Browning Rd., Bellmawr. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
