Stephen D. Freiman

On March 26, 2025, of Washington Twp. Age 82. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Branda). Devoted father of Mandie Lafferty (Frank) and Russell Freiman (Terry). Loving grandfather of Stephanie, Scott, and Evan. Proud great-grandfather of Daniel. Cherished uncle of Michele, Natalie, and Jamie. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Survived by his cat Oreo.

Steve’s pride presented through years of independent optical sales and, after retiring from sales in 2008, joining the American Red Cross. He held great satisfaction in using his role as Assistant Director for Disaster Relief to arrange shelters and directly helping victims. His contributions to his work led to years of praise and resulted in deep respect. He consistently and gracefully modeled what leadership looked like.

His stories and jokes made his personality shine, which made and still makes him easy to be remembered. He made a difference in every life he touched.

He was truly a force to be reckoned with. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father, pop pop, and great grandfather.

Family and friends are welcome to attend his visitation Friday, April 4^th 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen’s memory may be made to The American Red Cross.

I am sorry that we did not stay in touch as our family grew as well and some live in Florida. We were close with Steven when his mother was still alive. Alan and Susan

I'm so sorry to the whole family for the loss of someone so special. It's still so shocking and hard to believe he's not here with us anymore. My Uncle Steve had such a huge heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He was genuinely concerned about others and also a great listener and gave good advice. I'm so glad we always kept in touch over the years. I know he's watching over all of us and with his parents. I'll love him always and cherish our relationship. I'll miss him dearly. Marie, I am so very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a great guy with a million dollar personality. Always enjoyed talking with him. He was very quick witted and always had an answer to most questions. May God bring you comfort at this difficult time. R.I.P. Dear Steve. You will be missed.

Uncle Steve was for sure a character. From his 100 questions upon arrival, to his need to know how you've been. He was definitely a kind caring human. He judged no one and excepted everyone. His monthly invites to dinner to everyone one of his tools having it's own spot on the wall. From the pride and joy, to his yodeling pickle. This is what made Uncle Steve the man he was. His support for me and my family was well above what anyone could ask for. Uncle Steve youvare missed, you will continue to be missed. Forever grateful to have known you. Steve always did what he could to get the family together and show us a good time. He was funny, generous and about as cool as a father-in-law, and Pop Pop, could be! As a musician, I'll always remember, and be thankful for all the Broadway shows and walks through Greenwich Village, showing me the Artistic side of New York City... these are the memories I'll hold onto forever, I'll miss them, and him.

Steve was a great guy – always had a joke at the ready and gave so much of himself to volunteering for his community. May his memory be a blessing.

I will think of my Popop when I see gumballs, pinball machines, and willow trees. I will think of him when I visit New York, Wildwood, and buffets. I will be sure he lives through the things I do, the places I go, and the jokes I tell. I will also be sure to embarrass my son, Danny, by jumping up and down while I wave goodbye and through jokes I tell. His soul lives on.

Aunt Marie, we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Steve. We will never forget his intuitiveness, his humor, how scheduled he was and most of all his zest for life. He was a great man & will be missed. Sending you love & prayers. Love, Marianne, Bobby & the boys. Xo
