Sophia Mary (Milak) Johns of Sewell, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021. She was 94 years young. Beloved wife of the late Charles, Jr.  Devoted mother of Emerson (Marlene), Denise Burghoffer (John), Robert, and the late Charles Johns, III. Loving grandmother of Tracey, Jeffrey, Charles, IV, Christine, Eric, Michael, and Matthew.  Proud great-grandmother of Ethan, Kevin, Andrew, Zoe, Emily, Alison, Samantha, and Justin.  Dear sister of Elizabeth “Betty” Thul.

Sophia lived a wonderful life.  She will be remembered as being simply precious, and an absolute treasure by all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed by family and so many friends.  Sophia was born in East Millsboro, PA and lived in Philadelphia PA, Glenolden PA, Somerdale NJ and Sewell NJ.

Although her life mainly revolved around her family, she enjoyed her careers as she worked with Penn Fruit, Acme Markets, and later with Sam Paparone Homes as well as RJP Builders where she helped so many of her friends and neighbors with their new home purchase right where she resided.  It was quite special.  She also volunteered her time at Holy Family Church.  She loved her Catholic faith as she had many favorite saints that she connected with and prayed to.

One of her greatest joys was entertaining and bringing everyone together through lovely and delicious meals in her home.  Her style, class and attention to details made every visit magical and oh so memorable.  Talk about leaving a footprint behind- Sophia leaves a huge void in our hearts, yet manages to fill it with so many wonderful memories.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday 10:30 AM-12:00 PM at the Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080.  Mass of Christian Burial 12:15.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sophie’s memory may be made to the Church of The Holy Family.
