Salvatore “Sam” Franzini on May 23, 2016 of Washington Township. Age 65. Beloved husband of Donna (Nee Karaskevicus) Devoted father of Christina (Josh), Jessica (Vince) and Joseph (Erin) Loving Grandfather of Sara, Vincent, Nicholas, Angelo, Addison and Anthony. Loving son of Helen (Nee Conte) and of the late Salvatore. Dear brother of Judy Moss, John (Arlene) and MaryAnn Marcello (Chuck) He is also survived by his in-laws and many nieces and nephews and childhood friends.
Sam was a loving man who was known for his contagious smile. He loved his family more than anything. For the 41 years he was married to Donna, he embraced life to the fullest with the family they created together. Whether discussing the Phillies over home cooked meals with Christina, to having morning omelets with Jessica and movie nights with Joe. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren from playing in Uno tournaments to helping Mr Duck find Mrs Duck the most beautiful bracelet.
Sam had so much love for his mother Ella (Helen) Besides making sure she was always cared for, he shared her love of cooking and tried perfecting her best dishes to continue her legacy to his children. Besides passing on her famous recipes, was their shared joking sense of humor. Judy, John and MaryAnn can attest to this behavior.
Sam started his working career at Triangle Publications where he met his love Donna. From there he went to Hunt Manufacturing for 19 years as a computer programmer. This is where he helped start an elite group known as the “Tomato Boys” He finally worked for Edmund Optics for almost 18 years and decided to retire after becoming the “Chili Cook-off Champ”
Sam followed the Lord and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life journey he touched and helped so many lives. He will never be forgotten and will be missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 6-8 PM, Saturday 8:15-9:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 AM at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro. Interment St Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
