Salvatore Giunta
On February 18, 2021 of Woodbury. Age 83. Beloved husband of Marian (nee Cocciolone). Devoted father of Elizabeth Gallagher, Tammy Giunta, and Gina Giunta. Loving grandfather of Anthony, Jacqueline, and Michael. Dear brother of Linda Thumlert, Anthony Giunta, and the late Josephine Imbrogno, Peter Giunta, Rosemarie Giunta, and Gloria Grauman. Loved by nieces and nephews.
Salvatore attended Saint Bridget’s Catholic School and Glassboro High School. He served in the Navy reserves from 1954 through 1962. Salvatore as proprietor of Sal’s Barber Shop & Stylist in Woodbury, New Jersey for 57 years. He was married to his beloved wife for 59 years. Sal loved playing drums and played in several bands throughout the years in the Tri-State area until he was 65.
Sal loved traveling and belonged to the Leisure Club of Woodbury for 19 years. His favorite type of travel was going on cruises. He also loved fishing with his brother, Anthony, and going to the casinos. He loved spending time with his family, as family was everything to Sal. He loved to get together with his nieces and nephews. Sal was the life of the party, with his many jokes, dancing and socializing with anyone and everyone.
Sal never wanted to retire, barbering was not work for him, it was his life and he cherished his customers and built life long friendships with many of them.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday, 8:30-10:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Parish/St. Patrick’s RC Church, Woodbury. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Salvatore‘s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
