Ruthe Anne Martz (née Grega) of Columbus passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020 at age 78. She was the beloved wife of Bruce and devoted mother of Kirsten Martz-Cox, Daryl D’Angelo, wife to John, and Brett Martz, husband to Meagan. She was a loving grandmother of five granddaughters, Jordan, Jenna, Carly, Mackenzie, and Blake.
Ruthe was born and raised in Dunmore, Pa. She graduated from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. She was a lifelong educator and met her husband while working at the North Hanover Township school district. She spent the majority of her career teaching art and enrichment at Columbus Elementary School and retired in 2003. Ruthe owned her own business, named Somewhere in Time, for which she produced art and crafts. She loved dachshunds, antiques, and watching football. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with family and watching her granddaughters play sports and perform music.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 18 from 2:00-3:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. The funeral service begins at 3:00 pm.
Ruthe, as you may know, did not care for flowers. The family asks for no flowers but that donations be made in Ruthe’s memory to the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption, 125 County house Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012 or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
