Rose Marie Quattrone
October 29, 1935 – June 14, 2025
(nee Bellino) On Saturday, June 14, 2025, of Washington Twp., N.J. Age 89. Beloved wife of 60 years to Richard A. Quattrone (deceased). Devoted mother of daughter Linda R. Pollock (son-in-law Jeffery) and son Captain Richard D. Quattrone, USN (retired). Loving grandmother of Stephen J. Pollock. Born in 1935 as the daughter of the late Rose and James S. Bellino and as the younger sister to the late James F. Bellino. She was a fighter from the beginning of her life as the only survivor of triplets. She and her two brothers came into the world prematurely at Cooper Hospital, the second set of triplets born there. She spent her early years in Oaklyn, NJ. The family moved to Williamstown, NJ, when her father and uncle built Bellino Motors on the Black Horse Pike.
As a young girl, she loved playing the piano and spending time with her brother, her cousins especially her “sister/cousins” Charlotte and Marion, and her best friend since elementary school Audeen. She graduated from Glassboro High School in 1955, where she was a Bulldogs cheerleader. She was a pretty sight to see behind the wheel of her dad’s demo cars, especially when she got to drive one to school. From high school and through the 70 plus years since, she counted Audeen, Dottie, Aloha, Evelyn and Betty as her “girls.” She enjoyed spending time with them over monthly lunches, holiday celebrations, and in the planning of most of their high school reunions.
Rose Marie met her “true love” and dancing partner for life, Rick, on the dance floor at the “Dance-Ette” in Oaklyn. They were married in 1959 after he completed his enlisted service in the US Navy. After living in Williamstown for a brief period, they made Bells Lake their home in 1969 where they lived for nearly 60 years.
As a founding member of the Greenwood Park Bells Lake Swim Club, she enjoyed watching the sun “sparkle like diamonds on the lake” and she could be found reading many good books under a tree at the lake. She also loved putting her toes in the sand and spending family time with her parents and her children in Ocean City, NJ. She shared many happy memories with numerous work friends. For 25 years until her retirement in 2000, Rose Marie worked as a librarian aide for the Washington Twp. School District including the original Hurffville School , the original middle school (now the 9-10 building), and for most of her time, at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. In addition, she worked part time at Wedgewood Pharmacy for 30 years until her 80th birthday. Customers recall buying lottery tickets from her at the original pharmacy on Egg Harbor Road. Later, she moved with the business to Logan Twp., where she worked as a filing clerk.
Her legacy is her family. An advocate of higher education, she insisted that her children attend college. She had the opportunity to enjoy multiple college graduations for Linda, Rich, Jeff, and Stephen. She was also proud of her extended family – nieces, nephews, godchildren, great-nephew, her former daughter-in-law Evelyn, second cousins, and her children’s in-laws and friends. “Mom Q” made the dining room table a welcoming place for everyone to gather over a delicious meal, share a bottle of wine, and make good memories. Christmas was her favorite holiday. If she gave you one of her famous pizzelles trays, you were in for a treat.
As parent, she helped to organize the Bells School PTA’s first ever movie nights. Later, she was one of the “band candy” parents of the WTHS Minutemen Band Boosters. As a grandparent, she enjoyed her grandson’s soccer games, scout ceremonies, band concerts, and marching band competitions.
As a proud Navy mom for 30 years, she loved traveling to places near and far, wherever the Navy took Rich, including California, Florida, Virginia, Seattle, Hawaii, Japan and even going along for the ride on a few cross-country road trips in an RV with Rich and his dogs. In her later years, she loved staying at Rich’s home on the base at the US Naval Academy, where highlights included watching the midshipmen on the parade grounds, and enjoying Navy football games. She was especially proud to participate in Rich’s retirement ceremony.
She also enjoyed musical theatre and concerts. She loved to snuggle with her grand-dogs especially Petie, Freedom, and Hope. The family is especially grateful for the compassionate care of the nurses, aides, and staff at Juniper Village at Washington Square and Grace Hospice – all of whom treated Rose Marie with dignity during her long journey with dementia. The family also expresses its thanks to Lois and the Stephen Ministry at Holy Family Church, and to the staff of All American Assisted Living.
Family and friends are welcome to visit with her family on Tuesday, June 24th, 9:30 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp., NJ. Funeral service 11:00 am. Internment at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery , 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ.
