Ronald J. Gainsford
On September 21, 2024, of Sicklerville, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware. Age 76. Beloved husband of Barbara J. (nee Strunk). Devoted father of Barbara Ann Newton and William J. Gainsford. Dear brother of Jerilyn Henderson (Thomas) and Andrea Brunner (David).
Ron lived a life full of love, creativity and connection. Beginning his career as an accountant and later delivering food, he brought smiles to those he encountered, often performing magic tricks for his customers. During the holidays, he embraced the spirit of giving, dressing up as Santa while delivering food. A prolific poet, he shared over 1,000 poems, showcasing his deep appreciation for life and nature. His love of cooking was a lifelong passion – he put himself through school, working at a restaurant in Cape May, and continued to cook for his family at home and while camping, where his meals brought people together.
He was also a lover of the arts, frequently attending local theatre performances. His varied interests, from collecting buffalo head coins and building intricate Lego sets to his fondness for Minions, reflected his playful and imaginative spirit. He cherished animals, taking pride in his yard and caring for the fish in his koi pond. Known for his kindness, humor and deep love for his family and friends, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 9:30-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.
In honor of Ron’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, his family would encourage any donations be made to the American Cancer Society
