On January 12, 2014, Roberta, age 49, passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Ronald. Devoted mother of Nicole and David. Loving daughter of Ralph and the late Rose Capozzoli (nee Giletto). Precious sister of Maria Phillips (Mark) and Debra Moore (Russell). Adored daughter-in-law of Edmund and Cecilia. Cherished sister-in-law of Richard and Edmund Sochanski. Loving aunt of Alexander, Michael, Samantha, Matthew, Jacqueline and Jennifer.
Roberta was a life-long resident of Washington Township. During her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and basketball. She was a 1982 graduate of Washington Township High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Drexel University. Upon completion, Roberta enjoyed visiting family in Australia. After returning, Roberta went on to Rutgers School of Law to earn a Juris Doctor and became a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and the New Jersey Bar. Roberta worked for the Federal Courts prior to becoming a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and volunteer.
She was a devoted wife and mother who lived her life to please her family. Roberta was an avid reader, a constant learner and a sports fanatic. She had a passion for books, as well as the sports section of the newspaper. She enjoyed writing short stories. She was a PTO board member at Wedgwood Elementary School where she chaired the annual book fair and was involved with her children’s many activities. Roberta enjoyed coaching intramural basketball and teaching CCD at The Church of the Holy Family.
Aunt Bobbie enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Together they created treasured family memories with the little skits they produced and video-taped. One of her favorite past times was playing games with them including cards.
Roberta will be remembered for her kindness and selflessness, as well as her eagerness to volunteer and help others. Roberta was passionate about caring for her children, Nikki and David. There was nothing she would not do for them. Roberta will be greatly missed by her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Saturday 8:15 – 9:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family, Washington Twp. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
