Robert J. Barrucco, Sr., on October 3, 2013, of Washington Twp. Age 68. Beloved husband of Inez C. (nee Stella). Devoted father of Robert, Jr. (Rachel), Michael (Renee) and Sabrina Valentino (Randy). Loving grandfather of Nicholas.
To his family and friends Bob Barrucco will be remembered for his lively personality, warm laugh and angel’s voice. Bob had love for many things in life but above all else the great loves in his life were his wife and partner for 39 years, Inez and his children Robby and Rachel, Michael and Renee, and Sabrina and Randy. Bob will also be remembered for his beautiful signing voice. Remembered for sitting at the piano with his loving mother Jean, from the early years as “Bobby Capri” with the Velvet Satins, to singing with Joey Dale at the Palm Shore Club in Brooklyn. Most recently he was proudest to sing at the weddings of his children.
Bob also loved a good meal; few things could make him as happy as Inez’s meatballs and sauce or a great slice of fresh watermelon. So many good times and laughs were had while sitting around the dining table. He always seemed to laugh the loudest and be the happiest when with his lifelong friends and cousins from New York. New York was in Bobby’s heart for his whole life. From being a avid New York Yankees Fan to sharing memories of Arthur Avenue and Artuso’s water ice and cannoli.
Most recently Bob had found a new great love of his life in his grandson Nicholas. Nick was truly the apple of his grandfather’s eye, and even after the long battle he endured could bring that signature Bob Barrucco smile to his face. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend. The warm memories of his life will be held in our hearts forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 5:00 – 8:00 pm and Monday 8:15-9:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
