Bob will be remembered for many things like his generosity in advising anyone and everyone on the health of their eyesight. He loved to travel with Alma and cherished recounting the memories they made visiting so many different places around the world, but there wasn’t a time on any trip that he didn’t stop to help a stranger with something related to caring for their eyes and remained in contact with those “new” friends around the globe for years to come. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed game hunting and was an avid marks man with duck and quail. His love of boating brought him happiness through the years yet most people when they think of Bob would think of him flying and as being a pilot. His love of flying came from his eldest brother Larry whom he enjoyed accompanying and learning flying from as a young man. But the one hobby that brought Bob the most joy in life was fishing. There was a special smile and twinkle in his eye whenever he spoke about the day he had on the water and the catch he had made. No sooner was he home from one fishing trip that he would be planning the next one. He was a proud father to Debra and Jennifer. He included them in his hobbies as his way to create his most cherished memories, whether it was bringing Deb into a duck blind or having Jenn right by his side while fishing on the boat. And there’s no doubt, he has a rod in his hands right at this moment. And smiling.
