Rita E. Verrecchio
(née) Patricelli of Turnersville, N.J., passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, at the age of 89. Born to Antonio and Maria (née DeAngelo) Patricelli. Beloved wife of the late Alfred “Frenchy” Verrecchio. Devoted mother of Linda (Steve), Tina (Joe), and Thomas (Gail). Loving grandmother to Stephen, Ashlee (Vince), Daniel (Katherine), Matthew (Elisha), Nicholas (Gianna), and Talia. Proud great-grandmother to Kaylie, Sophia, Landen, Brielle, and Remingtyn. Dear sister to the late: Anne Mallamaci, Rose Arminio, Marie Tommillo, Teresa Fetzer, Hank Patricelli, Joseph Patricelli, Ernest Patricelli and John Patricelli. Cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Treasured friend to many very special loved ones.
Rita met her forever love as a teenager. They married in 1955 and were married for 52 years. Rita moved with her family from North Philadelphia to Turnersville in 1973, where she made lifelong friends and fell in love with Washington Township. One of her favorite things was attending the Fourth of July Parade. Rita was employed by Washington Township for over 25 years, first in the Police Records Department, then as the Secretary at the Senior Center. After her retirement in 2006, she remained an active member of the Senior Center, spending time with dear friends there, playing Bingo and going on bus trips to the Casino. Rita loved to bake and cook, just without “Garlic”. Anyone who knew Rita well, knows about the “G” or GARLIC!! Rita was a truly dedicated and loving Mom, Grandmom, and Great Grandmom and sleep-overs at her house were always the best!! She will never be forgotten, and will forever be cherished in our hearts. Love never ends.
The family wishes to extend our overwhelming gratitude to Rita’s private aide, Linda Wigand, who cared for our mother with love and devotion beyond measure. Words cannot adequately describe just how thankful we are for having Linda in our lives.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation, Tuesday, May 23rd, 8:30-10:15 AM at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Township. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Mary Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro, N.J. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Delsea Drive, Pitman, N.J.
