Richard B. “Dick” Baldwin, age 89, of Washington Twp., passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015. He resided in Naples, Florida for the past two years near his daughter. Devoted father of Richard (Denise), Denise Caron (Ray) and Stephen (Dawn). Loving grandfather of Richard, Gregory (Kelly) and Mia.
Dick was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from John Bartram High School and later from Temple University and the American College earning a CLU and CHFC degree. He enlisted in the Army at age 17 and served in World War II. He was a machine gun squad leader and later served as a German interpreter. After the war he played semi-pro football for the Philadelphia Athletics. He was an avid sports fan and gardener. He had a great love for books and learning and was an avid reader.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Committal Service and Military Honors to follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com
