Rev. Lt. Col.(Rtd) Johnson K. Kyereboah Sr. passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021, in Sicklerville, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of the late Margaret W. Kyereboah. Loving father of Naana Biney-Amissah(Thomas), Kukuwa Kyereboah, Deborah Sarpong(George), Bernice Taylor(Roger), Margaret Billingsley(Noble), Johnson Kyereboah Jr. and Manfred Kyereboah (Atusko decd). Johnson was born in Ghana, West Africa where he and his “Besty” Margaret raised their seven children. They were happily married for 55 years until her death and enjoyed traveling internationally, serving The Lord together, and investing in their children and grandchildren. Reverend, as he was fondly known, started his career as an ordained Methodist minister in Ghana and served as the first Chaplain General of the Ghana Armed Forces. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1970’s to pursue postgraduate studies in Theology. He continued serving the Lord as the pastor of three United Methodist churches in the Missouri Synod. He later retired from the United Methodist Church and worked as a counselor to youth and adults in the Greater Philadelphia area.
He enjoyed reading, watching CNN news “all day”, game shows, movies, and sports with his children and grandchildren. He loved singing beloved Methodist hymns and was a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to his family and all who came in contact with him. One of his favorite scriptures was, “As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord” (Joshua 24:15). He will be dearly missed!
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, December 3, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd, Turnersville, NJ 08012, and on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Sicklerville United Methodist Church, 406 Church Rd., Sicklerville, New Jersey. Funeral Service will follow at 2:15pm. Interment: Sicklerville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sicklerville, NJ.
