To Ray's family & his colleagues & friends at Thomas Jefferson PACU in Philadelphia, Ray was a wonderful, caring & thoughtful man. He loved his family dearly & loved & appreciated all of his coworkers & friends at Jefferson. He provided excellent nursing care to his patients along with showing them understanding & compassion. I know all of you miss him so much. Just know that Ray will continue to watch over you, just in a different way. May you feel his spirit among you, especially during difficult times in the days & weeks ahead. May you find comfort in knowing that Ray is at peace & no longer enduring all that he went through on dialysis & his subsequent kidney transplant. When I last saw Ray a few years ago, he was working full time & going to dialysis three times a week. He acted like it was no big deal. That's the kind of guy Ray was. He made you smile, laugh & look at life & all of its challenges with a desire to keep going & fight the good fight. Indeed, Ray fought the good fight & was able to see his children grow up. Ray was a good family man, always concerned about his wife & kids. Yes, Ray left us way too soon! May all of us appreciate whatever time we had with Ray. Let us challenge ourselves to be kinder, smile more & reach out to help each other in the spirit of Ray. May God Bless All of You!! Fondly, Grace Ann Spena
