Raymond S. Phillips, Jr.
On August 18, 2010, of Turnersville, NJ. Age 76. Beloved husband of 54 years to Elizabeth A. nee Jeffers. Devoted father of Raymond S. Phillips, III Jeneath, Elizabeth A. Nicktern Edward, Jeffrey P. Phillips Donna, Matthew C. Phillips and Amy L. Sichel Richard. Loving grandfather of Adam and Justin Nicktern, Jeffrey, Joshua and Jenna Phillips, and Lauren, Richard and Claire Sichel. Dear brother of Robert C. Phillips Catherine, Susan J. DiTanno Mario and the late Dorothy M. Davis Robert. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ray was born in Philadelphia and later resided in Ridley Park, PA, before moving to Turnersville in 1968. Ray was a 1951 graduate from Dobbins Vocational School in Philadelphia. He was employed by Bell Telephone Co. of PA for 38 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Upon retirement from Bell in 1988, he became employed with The Univ. of PA. He served in the Naval Reserve Submarine Division for 5 years and then served 2 years in the US Army Signal Corps.
Ray was a long-time member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church in Sewell, having served several terms as both an Elder and Trustee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday eve 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Monday 8:15 – 9:15 am at the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral Service 10:00 am at Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church, Washington Twp. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
