Peter T. Ierardi on July 12, 2023. Beloved husband of almost 65 years to the late Frances Ierardi (Bucchino). Brother of the late Marie Korpalski (Frank). Father of Deborah (Ric) Santosusso. Grandfather of Richard Santosusso (Courtney) and Amanda Santosusso (Jared DelColombo). Dearly beloved by his family and many friends.
Pete was born in South Philadelphia to the late Philip and Stella (Saraco) Ierardi on February 5, 1934. He graduated from Bok High School in South Philadelphia during which time he met his future wife, Fran, at an ice cream parlor. Pete was devoted to his beloved wife.
Pete served in the United States Army in the 1950s before receiving an honorable discharge. He was a pioneer in the technology space, founding his company, American Duplicating, out of a storefront in Camden just as photo copies were introduced to the market. American Duplicating grew to employ more than 100 individuals in Mount Laurel before Pete sold the business and retired for the first time in the 1980s. Pete came out of retirement in the late 1980s to operate a Pella Windows franchise in South Philadelphia before eventually retiring again in the 1990s.
Pete was an avid golfer throughout his life and enjoyed spending more time on the green with his grandson after his retirement. He was especially proud of his hole-in-one at Green Tree Golf Course.
Pete lived his 89 years to the fullest. Pete and Fran were avid travelers. Together they explored Japan, Brazil, Italy, Monaco, Holland, the Caribbean, and many places in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family on annual trips to Las Vegas and exploring the seas on many cruises.
Pete was very proud of his grandchildren and active in their lives. He enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and spending summers down the shore with the family.
Pete loved all Philadelphia sports and he especially bled green, a devotion he passed on to his daughter and granddaughter. One of his fondest memories was cheering on his beloved Eagles at the 1960 Championship Game at Franklin Field with his father.
Pete will be remembered for his laugh and his wonderful sense of humor. Pete was always ready to put a smile on your face.
