Paul R. Masulis, on July 11, 2012, of Washington Twp. Age 85. Beloved husband of the late Angelina J. nee Colonna. Dear brother of Ignatius Nancy. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Paul served in the Air Force as a Sergeant in the Air Transport Command. He attended Radio Electronics Institute and Temple University. He worked at Philco Corp for 17 years before continuing working for the government in defense contact administration services region of Philadelphia. He started working for NASA Quality Assurance Testings. He was involved in the inspection and testing of the NASA equipment and traveled throughout the country in this capacity. He later was involved with Bendix Scientist and assisted them in developing the Apollo Lunar Service Package ALSEP. NASA recognized Paul’s efforts on their behalf and honored him with many awards, including the “Silver Snoopy Award” presented by a NASA astronaut. He was invited to watch the last shuttle launched to the moon Apollo 17 in the VIP section. He later became a trainer for future inspectors.
Paul was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was on the Sr. Advisory Board of Washington Twp. Paul was active in the Washington Twp. Senior Center and was instrumental in the construction of the new Senior Center as well as doing major fund raising for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Glassboro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Monday 8:15 – 9:15 am at the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Glassboro. Entombment New St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
