Bob & Kathy Mathias left a message on September 30, 2024:
We are so sorry for your loss. The Mathias family will always remember Pat for her kindness, her laughter and of course that beautiful smile of hers. Pat always found a way to make us feel special. She made sure there were plenty of handmade chocolates for every birthday party and holiday when our kids were little. Such a treat! I always wondered where she found the time to do this for us, knowing that she also put her heart and soul into her own family and her work. Another favorite memory is the time that Pat arranged for VIP treatment at The Fed during Eliza’s 5th grade field trip. We all learned about how money is sorted (and shredded) but the kids were most impressed by how MUCH money is handled there and by all the security measures in place to guard it. None of the other classes got to go on this tour. Just us, because we knew Pat! It was a really special day. I’m sure she created memories like this for so many other students through her work over the years. We were so lucky to know her and she will certainly be missed. All our love to Jim & the family. we have lost a dear friend, Pat Burns. Pat was loved by everyone whose life she touched, I met Pat over 40 years ago when we worked together in the same department at the Federal reserve bank, and then for the many years that her husband Jim work with me at mid Atlantic federal credit Union. She was one of the most unselfish, giving and vivacious person I have ever known. Over those many years, Pat showered my children and grandchildren with the tension love and lots of homemade candy and birthday celebrations. and attachment many hours over years helping my mother in her advanced years, just spending time with her, making her laugh and adding a great deal of enjoyment to my mothers life, who was a complete stranger to her. Words fail and trying to convey what are unique and selfless person. The world is definitely a better place because she walked among us. God bless Pat Burns my wife Joan has submitted her own comments under the same email address

Pat lived her life as an example of true charity, the virtue God favors. It is rare and all of us who knew Pat know that we have lost a very special friend. … a friend who shares your joy and makes it her own. A friend whose loss we will mourn and think of with a love that keeps her with us.

Great colleague and an even better person. Heaven's gain and our loss. She will truly be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Emilie and Bill Bradley left a message on September 15, 2024:
Patricia, You never asked for anything. You just gave from your heart. Whenever anyone was in need, you were the first to arrive. Your love of Jim and your family knew no measure. Your Christian values shined in this bleak and callous world. A horrible disease came to you over two years ago and you fought it with a tenacity unmeasured. Again you suffered the pain and treatments not for your self, but to stay with your beloved James and family. There was not a selfish bone in your body. Death finally took you from us but only after your valiant fight. To say you will be missed by many is a understatement. You stood tall in this life. Rest In Peace, dear Pat. Boomer, Georgie, and Hailey are waiting to crossover with you.
