Lisa Anastasia left a message on November 19, 2015:
Even though the time I spent with Pat and the Miller family was on the periphery as Her hairstylist, and in the past, Pam's, Cyndi's and Michele's, I felt a little bit a part of the family. It started with Nanny thirty seven years ago and has been my gift to be part of Pat's life ever since. Listening to her brag about her grandkids and being a true Matriarch and humble English Queen to her family was a story unfolding. From Jeffrey to Aurianna, and all grandbabies in between, I marveled at how Pat made it from births to sporting events to boat trips with Ray, graduations, homecomings and weddings with grace and never ending energy. Pat and Loretta did the most beautiful draperies in my parents house in Pitman that will be a lovely reminder of her talents as a seamstress and designer. I have thought of Pat every time I walked in my parent's house for the last twenty years! Special thanks to Pat's Dad, husband and grandkids who served in the armed forces. I am truly thankful and humbled by your bravery. And to the women who have married into the family or will in the future, Pat spoke highly of you as well. You were drawn to the family for a reason..... Lisa Anastasia

Kimberly Mayne left a message on November 18, 2015:
I was lucky enough to call this dear person my Aunt. So many wonderful memories come to mind. The Christmas gatherings with family and friends - what a gracious hostess she was. I often joked with my sister that I never even knew the stress of putting together a holiday meal until later, because she always made it look so easy!) She relished in the entire process. Table linens were always beautiful, down to every last detail. She always remembered Christmas crackers for the young and old. Children were so very special to her, and there was always a table just for them. She was so excited about the addition to the house, because it meant we would have a bigger room for gatherings, and everyone could be at the same table. Then later, when I was 13, I came to stay with Aunt Pat and Uncle Ray for a week in the summer with just my grandma. She let me stay up late and sleep 'til noon, and jump in the pool first thing when rising. I remember watching, "A River Runs Through It" together on the couch. She let me scroll through and pick out a movie. (I was so impressed that she knew about Pay-Per-View!) She and Uncle Ray both liked watching Michelle and I play soccer together, although she whipped my tail. I loved seeing the room in her basement where she sewed all of her beautiful interior designs for her business. She made many visits to see our family in Virginia, and always took such interest in hearing all about the latest with us. My grandma looked so forward to her visits, and would talk about them for days prior. She always called her "Mom." She was her second mom, without a doubt. I remember how beautiful she looked in the color purple. And her signature Estee Lauder Beautiful perfume. (I will never think of anyone else when I smell this perfume. It belongs to her.) As I grew older, we chatted back and forth on Facebook or texted (again, so impressed with how she kept up with the times). She wanted to know all about our move to California and our houses. She loved this sort of thing, and always wanted the details. She said she loved California (she lived in Imperial Beach near San Diego years ago). She never judged you when you talked either, no matter what the subject matter. Always so polite and gracious, with the perfect blend of spunk and style. She loved her family more than anything. Her beloved husband, her precious daughters, and her dear grandchildren. She wasn't just your family member - she was your friend. No matter who you were - family or friends or strangers - you always felt like you had come home when you came to Aunt Pat's house. And she made sure you knew you were welcome to come back anytime. We know you are in Heaven, Aunt Pat. We love you so, so very much, and miss you even more. Rest peacefully, and know how very much you are missed on this Earth. Love, "Kimmy"

Dear Michelle, Cyndi , Pam and family, So sorry to hear about Patti Ann. I will always have fond memories of my 2 visits from the UK where Pat was the most wonderful host. Having only met her twice I still have a strong feeling of fondness and if she were to walk down the path now I would feel excited and give her a big hug and show her my Singer book she gave me that still sits on my shelf. What a beautific and warm smile she had. The pain of grief is so intense and words can't describe the feelings inside but it does ease over time. Share your grief and memories together. Your strength and support to each other will get you through each day. My thoughts are with you all. Lots of love, Clare Ruskin (Aunty Daisy's Granddaughter) xxxx P.S I have a lovely photo of my dad with your mum in their youth so let me know if you want me to scan it for you.

Wendy Bell left a message on November 19, 2015:
Dear Aunt Pat, some of the greatest people I have in my life to love are because of you. I've never actually said this to you, but I've always known it's true. Your family in England were so welcoming, opening up their home to me 17 years ago when I came to visit and apply for jobs, giving me so much advice and support as a 'foreigner' niece in a different land....helping to transport me, cook for me, spend their evenings with me, help me navigate the train and underground systems, introduce me to neighbours and friends. It gave me the confidence to begin to integrate and not feel like an outsider, and gave me a sense from the start that I belonged. Just like you always did to family, extended family, and friends in your own home. You're a wonderful aunt and a lovely person, and you can just imagine how we all miss you so very much. I love you, thank you Aunt Pat xxoo

There were so many things that I loved about my sister-in-law, Pat. I loved how her home was a welcoming place for family, friends, and friends of friends. I loved that she always made sure that the children who visited were happy, settled, involved with play activities, and well-fed. She took an interest in all their activities. Pat also had a wonderful sense of design detail in her festive home decorations for every holiday. The railings, mantle, and walls always reflected the spirit of the season. It was fun to see what decorations would go up next. I also love that Pat was so fun to be with. She was always up for a shopping adventure. She frequently gave me good advice about fabric, wallpaper, clothing, and draperies. She was an expert when it came to that. She also loved planning and taking trips. I remember the Christmas that she surprised her husband with a trip to Alaska! I think what I love most of all about my sister-in-law was that she was so tuned into her family. Framed photos of family were in every room in the house. Family was everything to her. She knew about every activity in which they were involved, every sport game, every lesson, and every dream they had. She was also there for them whenever they needed her. Pat was an optimist. If there was ever any problem, she could assure anyone that it would be all right. Pat was incredibly loving and giving. Her wonderful legacy will continue in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and all those who knew her. May she rest in peace. She will live on in our hearts until we meet again. Christine Miller
