Pat was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, constantly surrounded by her large and loving Irish family. Early in life, she was an independent working woman who loved adventure. While traveling to Hawaii, she met the love of her life, Ed. They settled in the Wissinoming area of Northeast Philadelphia and had four children. She happily reminisced of her time spent on Tackawanna Street. In the community, she was involved with many volunteer activities tied to her children. She was a strong woman of faith and was deeply involved in her church. She was later employed as a secretary with the School District of Philadelphia until her retirement. Pat relocated to the Parke Place community in Sewell, NJ, to enjoy her later years. She made many lasting friendships and was very involved in many clubhouse and social activities.
Pat had many passions in life, spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with them was her top priority. As many know, she had a lifelong affinity for the beach – the “Villas”, Cape May, the Wildwoods, and beaches far and wide were her happy place. An avid reader, she could read a book a day and never missed the daily Inquirer. She loved shopping and could not pass up a day trip or an invite out with family or friends.
In spite of her latest hardship enduring breast cancer for the third time, she still maintained a positive attitude and relied heavily on her faith. She created many memorable family traditions that everyone enjoyed. Her love for all holidays with her family, especially Christmas Eve and the tradition of “Grandmom’s basket” will always be remembered. Pat’s infectious smile and zest for life will be greatly missed. Her dedication and love of family will be the constant that remains and will be her lasting legacy.
