This is probably the hardest thing aside from yesterday and today that I have to do, so please bare with me……
I truly believe that my Mother had a thing with special holiday’s, born on St. Patty’s Day, Married on Mother’s Day and Passed on Valentine’s Day.. coincidence or not, that is how things are with my mom… a day to remember…
Pat, my Mother, was born in Abbington Hospital, Montgomery County on March 17, 1935, her parents were Helen and Robert. She is one of 13 children, 8 girls and 5 boys. Can you now see why she and my father had just me…lol
My mom grew up in Blackwood Terrace, Deptford Township when she met my father Jack Caserta through one of her sisters and she then tried to fix him up with her best friend, funny that never happened they fell in love and after a short period of dating they eloped to Elkton Maryland on May 9, 1954. They were married 12 years before having me on February 20, 1966… She and my father have been married 58 years, now that is something to be proud of.
Pat was the most AWESOME, Beautiful, Loving, Funny, Caring, Loyal Wife, Mother and Best friend anyone could have and I had her for 47 wonderful years along with my father. She would go over and above to make sure that you were okay when she was the one suffering. When she was first diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis it was a difficult time in her life but my mom was a trooper and overcame her obstacles.. she was ALWAYS there for me and my father.. I was in the Washington Township Marching band and my Mom and Dad were always front and center to cheer me on. I fondly nicknamed her “Archive” cause every time we’d go somewhere or something was said of an area or person she would tell you verbatim the details down to the color of shoes they had on.. That’s why she was so loved and will be oh so terribly missed by all who have been touched by her smile, her hug, her kiss and her warm loving eyes that smiled when she did… as the song goes..
When Irish Eyes are smiling the whole world smiles with you…. and they did when she was in your company, she’d light up the room
My mother Pat is a remarkable woman and has taught me so very much in life and now in her death that I now know that I have truly grown up to be just like my mother just as I wished for all my life. She will be deeply missed until I see her again I know we have an AWESOME Beautiful ANGEL watching over us….
Thank you for visiting us and sending your condolences it means so very much to us, but please always remember what my mother has brought to you when in her company big or small, keep it alive
