Norris K. Sullivant
On April 16, 2026, of Washington Twp. Age 74. Beloved husband of Irene (nee Ricci). Devoted father of Kristin Mainzer (Jacob). Loving grandfather of Levi. Dear brother of Joan Sullivant-Atton (Andy) and the late Jean Sullivant, and brother-in-law of Catherine Liapes, Peter Liapes, Anne Manero, and Charles Manero. Cherished cousin of John Sullivant (Cathy), and Nancy Sullivant Cox (David). Loved by many nieces, nephews and his grandnephew. Proud son of the late Norris J. and Dora (nee Lutschaunig) Sullivant.
Skip will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Skip and Irene were married December 22,1979. Except for a brief time living in Virginia, they made their home in New Jersey. Skip and Irene shared a love for music and spent many hours playing or listening to music together. Skip loved to assist Irene with instrument repairs and making recordings to use in her music classrooms. In addition to her “honey do lists” around the house.
Above all, Skip loved his family. One of Skip’s and Irene’s greatest joys in life was the birth of their daughter, Kristin, on their seventh wedding anniversary. Some of Kristin’s fondest childhood memories include daddy-daughter time learning how to use her first computer, building her first giant snowman in the driveway, playing T-ball and soccer together in the yard, and driving around together in Skip’s 1964 Chevy listening to The Beatles. Despite Skip’s long work hours, he made an effort to attend Kristin’s orchestra concerts to support her love of music.
Skip was a proud Father of the Bride as he walked Kristin down the aisle at her wedding to the “best son-in-law in the world”, Jacob. That pride and joy was complete when Kristin and Jacob’s son Levi was born.
“Pop Pop Skip” adored his grandson, Levi, and lived for video chats, photos, and the latest updates from preschool.
Skip was an accomplished computer programmer and systems analyst. He spent most of his career running the lab systems at a large oil refinery in Delaware and retired in 2016.
Passionate about playing the guitar and the Hammond organ, Skip enjoyed sharing the gift of music with his family. He loved to tinker with cars and electronics and prided himself on doing his own repairs.
Skip had a keen interest in genealogy and traced the Sullivant family roots back to the 1700s . He was also a World War II history buff and was proud to share details of his father’s service with anyone who asked.
While today our hearts are heavy, we know Skip is finally at peace. We will always cherish our fond memories of the love and good times we had together.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 10:30 – 11:30 am at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Norris’ memory may be made to the Cathedral Kitchen, Camden, NJ.
