On July 1, 2024 of Washington Twp. Age 60. Beloved husband of Theresa (nee Onesti). Devoted father of Nick Saponara (Megan) and Tori Miller (Ted). Loving grandfather of Arlo. Cherished son of Angela and the late Nicholas. Dear brother of Mario Saponara. Loved by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survived by his furry companion, Vinny.
Nick was a passionate sports enthusiast, his heart belonging to the Philly sports teams and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. His commitment to sports extended beyond cheering from the sidelines; he coached his kids in WTPR basketball for over a decade, shaping the skills and character of all that he coached.
From a young age Nick had a love of cars, especially Corvettes. Owning several over the years, he enjoyed keeping up with the latest developments in style and engineering.
Nick dedicated 23 years of his career to Swedish Match, where he not only excelled professionally but also forged lasting friendships with clients and coworkers alike. Nick also took immense pride in owning and operating The Custard Shack for over four decades. He most enjoyed seeing his loyal customers at The Shack and out and about in the community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nick found relaxation and excitement in the casinos of Atlantic City, particularly enjoying the game of Blackjack. When he had a good night at the tables, he was always quick to share his winnings with his family.
Nick greatly looked forward to taking his family to Disney World each year, experiencing the newest hotels and attractions. His home office was filled with photos and souvenirs from his many trips.
Above all else, Nick cherished his family. His devotion and love for them was the basis for all he did. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, generosity, and unwavering support that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church. Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.

Reading this story of Nicky’s life made me realize the kind, sweet and funny person I met in grade school continued to live his life as I remembered all those years ago. He always had integrity and even though I made him late to high school a number of times when he drove me ( in his corvette!) almost every morning, he never lost his cool.
