Mario Arnone of Sewell, NJ, formerly of Tacony section of Philadelphia, died Friday, Sept 10, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 87 years old.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Clara Arnone.
He was the loving father of Carmela, Robert and Marco.
Mario was born in Celico/Cosenza, Italy in 1934 and emigrated to the United States when he was 12 years old. He met the love of his life at the Paladium. Thereafter he was drafted by the United States Army. Upon completing his time in the army, Mario and Clara got married on August 29th. After marriage, they bought a home in the Tacony section of Philadelphia and became a staple at Our Lady of Consolation parish.
Mario graduated from Temple University in 1961 with his degree in Mechanical Engineering and immediately took his talents to the Engineering Services Company, a tool design company founded in 1947 which specialized in jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, and special machines. In 1971, Mario purchased the Engineering Services Company, renamed it Enser Corporation, moved the headquarters to Cinnaminson, NJ, and began transforming it beyond only tool design into what it is today. Mario’s integrity & morals were the foundation that Enser was built on and continues to be a cornerstone of the company. Mario was a genuinely kind, sympathetic, and brilliant person, and his teachings, philosophy, and business directives will live on, forever interwoven with Enser.
Mario and Clara loved to go to Guardia Piemontese, Italy during the month of July to visit with the many relatives that remained. Usually, they would take a couple of the grandkids with them so they could learn the Italian culture and meet their cousins. During the winter months, they loved to go to Orlando, FL to get out of the cold of the Northeast.
Mario was a wine connoisseur, making his own home made very strong vino from 40 cases of grapes for many years in his wine cellar in Tacony. He loved to go down to his wine cellar after dinner and take care of the vino. He also loved his 4 fig trees in Tacony, lovingly wrapping them with tar paper and leaves each fall. A couple days before he passed, he was taken outside in his wheelchair to help pick some figs from the tree in the yard.
Mario’s passion for life, and the love and devotion he gave to his family and friends will always be remembered.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carmela (Chris) Valeno of Washington Township, N.J.; his son, Marco (Deborah) Arnone of Huntingdon Valley; his late son, Robert Arnone and Antonella of Newtown. Grandfather of Domenic, Joseph, Mario, Juliana, Isabella, Nicholas, Stefano, Natalie, Marcello, and Ryan. Brother of Carmen (Nicoletta) and predeceased sisters Irene (Rocco) and Rosina (Tony).
