Lucille D. DiLalo (nee Giovannetti) on August 9, 2014, of Washington Twp. Age 85. Devoted mother of Gregory J. (Terriann) and Diane Holtaway (Jeffrey). Loving grandmother of Gregory, Jr., Christa, Courtney, Michael and J.T. and great grandmother of James. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Louis DiLalo
Lucille DiLalo, will be dearly remembered for the love and kindness she gracefully touched all who knew her. She gave from her heart as a devoted wife and caregiver to her husband, as a Mother who taught by example, as a sister exemplifying love for a sibling, as a friend and neighbor who was always there, and as a stranger who would take the time to bring happiness into one’s life, never expecting anything in return.
Lucille was raised in Elizabeth, NJ. She graduated from Battin High School and entered the banking industry where she spent a good part of her career before transitioning to the Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer law firm where she served as a paralegal in the trusts and estates division.
Lucille moved to East Brunswick, NJ where she and Lou raised their family. They decided to make a move to New Bern, North Carolina where they truly enjoyed 15 years of retirement. More recently they returned to New Jersey to live out the rest of their lives near family.
Lucille was deeply faithful to our Lord and our Blessed Mother. She devoted much of her time to religious ministries throughout her life. Over the years she served as a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Altar Rosary Society, and the Legion of Mary. She was a founding member of the Adoration ministry at Mater Ecclesiae Roman Catholic Church in Berlin, NJ, as well as Mary Mother of Mercy Parish in Glassboro, NJ.
Beyond her faith, Lucille will always be remembered for her inner strength. Any challenge that came her way, she met head on. She demonstrated to those she loved how to be strong and never be afraid to do the right thing.
Mom, Nan, Lucille you have blessed our lives in so many ways and your memory will live on forever and beyond!
