Loretta Taylor (née Nickerson) passed away peacefully early on Christmas morning, 2019. Beloved wife of the late James “Jim” Taylor, devoted mother of son Keith Taylor (Susan) and daughter Cindy Coroneos (George), and cherished grandmother of Kevin, Taylor, Lexie, and Katie.

Born and raised in Collingswood, NJ, Loretta owned several hair salons across South Jersey, where she specialized in color. Loretta and Jim then opened Taylor’s Salon in Sewell, now owned by son Keith.

As Loretta put it best, she lived the “cruiser lifestyle,” spending her days sailing her boat, Night Music and Sailtrader, out of Seaview Harbor Marina in Longport, NJ before settling in Stuart, Fl. Loretta also held her U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton Captain’s license.

An avid traveler, Loretta skied everywhere from the West Coast to Chamonix Mont-Blanc, the Matterhorn and Cervinia, and scuba dived some of the most famous reefs our world has to offer.

Per her wishes, private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Loretta Taylor.

Keith and Cindy, so sorry for your loss. Well, I go back to the Alfred St. James days with your parents. I can honestly say that they changed my life with a haircut (perm). I also remember the boats that they would invite my family on, Winterweski and Summertoo. They were great people and and I smile when I think of them both. Prayers are being said for you and your families.

Keith , Cindy +family I am so incredibly sorry for your loss... I worked at Taylor’s for 17 yrs . Loretta was so much more than a boss to me. She helped me through many personal struggles ?and Loretta also taught me everything she knew about Coloring( her specialty)She had so much faith in me as a person and stylist and that meant so much?I am so grateful to have had Loretta and Jimmy in my life .If I could talk to her I would thank her for these things and I wouldn’t forget to thank her for Sticking up for me Every Time Jimmy and I got in a fight ?it would make that vain in his forehead pop out , lol ..Taylor’s Salon is Timeless and Enduring because of what Loretta and Jimmy built and passed on . Cindy, George, Keith, Susan and family We wanted to extend our family's condolences to you. I was reflecting back to some of the many memories over the years. Your mom was such a special and dynamic lady. I am such better version of myslef having your parents in my life. Anyone who ever had the priviledge of knowing her, will miss her.
