Mrs. Loretta Bernadette Wethman , age 88, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Sunday, September
18, 2016 at her son’s home on Amelia Island.
Born on February 12, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to William Joseph and Bertha (Goldhan) Farrell, she grew
up in Philadelphia, one of 12 Children.
Mrs. Wethman paid her own way through Catholic School and during WWII she was a draftsperson for
General Electric.
She married Norman Edward Wethman in 1947 and they lived in Philadelphia until they moved to Turnersville, New Jersey in 1969. While living there, she set up the library for a local school and then became a dietician for JFK Hospital in Washington Township, NJ. Mrs. Wethman was very adept at quilting, crochet, and various other handicrafts. Family was very important to her and they recall the wonderful summers spent at the Jersey Shore, where they would rent a house every summer.
Mrs. Wethman leaves behind her children; Norman (Sophie) Wethman of Collins Lakes, NJ., Joseph
(Christine) Wethman of Melbane, NC., William (Barbara) Wethman of Fernandian Beach, FL., Lee M. (Barbara)Wethman and a brother, Joseph Farrell of Darby, PA. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren , 13 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
